Clubs are Back at BES

The students at Blewett Elementary are very excited to be participating in a number of clubs this year.
Tech Club: Students gather in the Numeracy Nest to play Mindcraft for Education or other school appropriate tech games and activities. Students have access to our basic robotic tools to learn basic programming as well as Lego and other fun hands-on techology.
Chess Club: Chess is a great way to develop problem solving skills in a fun and cooperative way. Each Tuesday and Thursday, Mr. Konken hosts chess club for students at every level learning. In March we will run the chess championship in three catagories (beginners, novice, and intermediate).
Dance Club: Each Friday at long recess Ms. Talhia breaks out the tunnes for dance club in the playground. Its always an exciting time for both kids and adults to shake to the music.
Hockey: At each recess students can suit up to play a fun game of hockey in our fenced in court. Fair play, safety, and sportsmanship are the only requirements. All hockey players will learn the Canadian song by Stompin Tom Conners "The Hockey Song" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F5I_zaqM8LM
