It's been a busy January/February. Our grade 4,5,6 classess participated in the district volleyball tournament at Hume Elementary School.  Students tried their best, had fun, and showed lots of sportsmanship. Way to go BES! 

Our clubs at BES are in full force. Thank you to staff who take time from their lunch to organize and run these activities. Currently students can participate in the following:

Tuesdays: Art club

Wednesdays: Knitting club  /  Dance club

Thursdays: Chess club, 

Fridays: Dance party in the playground

Last week staff at BES participated in our school based professional development day. Our focus for the day was on our school's numeracy goal of helping students gain strategies for problem solving and improving number sense. It was a very productive day for all. 

We are in the middle of our winter acitivities. Our grade 4-6 classess are heading up to White Water Ski Resort for their third  trip this Friday. Our primary classes will be starting their cross-country skiing with the following schedule:

• Winter activities :  

  • Gr 4-6 skiing on Feb 2, 9, 23, March 1st  at WH2o 

  • primary grades - X country skiing 

    • Kalabis/Leeming: Feb 28th, March 6th 

    • Walker/ Verigin:  Feb 23rd, Mach 1st
