Number Sense and Problem Solving
Happy February,
As we move into February we're already looking into next year's enrollment projections. If you know of any new families that are of kindergarten age, please let them know to register as soon as possible.
Last week our grade 4,5,6 students had fun at the anual volleyball tournament at Hume Elementary School. Our students represented our school with a strong display of sportsmanship and fun. Thank you to our coaches Mr. Wheeler, Ms. Nelson, and Kathy Centrone for taking the kids. Way to go BES volleyball!
One of our goals this year is to focus on developing better problem solving strategies and number sense in numeracy. At our pro-d event on Feb 16th, staff will be reviewing, learning, and sharing numeracy teaching strategies that help students gain confidence and enjoy math.
Math Joke of the week: Why did the obtuse Triangle go to the beech?
- Because it was over 90 degrees! Sorry Folks!
