Remembrance Day

This year's Remembrance Day ceremony was a very special event. It was great to see students and staff come together to remember those that sacrificed their freedom for others. Ms. Walker's gr 2/3 class sang a beautiful song called "Peace Like a River" While Mr. Hammerich's and Mr. Wheeler's classes came together to sing an old favourite Beatles song "All we Need is Love". Great job everyone. I was very impressed with our students in being respectful and reflective during our moment of silence.

Mr. Hammerich and Mr. Wheeler's classes sang it best, but I'll use the original Beatles clip to convey the message that all we really need is love: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_7xMfIp-irg

And here is "Peace Like a River" not quite as good as Ms. Walker's gr 2/3 class  : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=329t5D3ZTaw

A special thanks to our PAC for all the hard work they have been putting in to this school year. It is their contributions that really allow many of our activities to happen at our school. If you are ever able to contibute in any way to a PAC led activity, please know that in doing so, you are helping to keep our school a vibrant place to learn for all kids. BPAC has always helped with providing nutritious food for kids who may need extra support.  Money raised by PAC has helped reduce costs for field trips and events. They have also sponsored cultural performances to reduce costs for our school and bought equipment and software to enhance the learning experience for all kids at Blewett Elementary School. Thank you PAC, you Rock!
