World CP Day

Fall is upon us and the turning leaves are breathtaking. I must say that “gratitude” is the theme of this month. Thanksgiving is just the right time to pause and consider all the good around us.

I feel especially thankful for all the welcoming people I’ve met in my first month at Blewett Elementary School. Thank you, Everyone!

Wednesday was International Teacher’s Day! Thank you, Teachers, for all the hard work you put in to make connections with kids in their learning.

We had a great learning event this last week as The Rick Hanson Foundation presented a virtual assembly on Thursday for World CP Day. Thank you to all who participated for this important event.

Halloween coming soon!

This year’s Halloween activities may not look exactly as it did in years past, but as we are still being mindful of our responsibility to keep our kids and community safe, the events planned will still be full of fun and spooky activities. Please see the monthly newsletter  for more information and our PAC will be giving a more detailed plan of events soon.

A message from Jackie Barber - Nelson Public Library

Library Cards in Nelson:

Hi Parents!

As you may know, Area E property taxes do not pay towards the Nelson Public Library. Fortunately, all school-aged children in Area E are eligible for a FREE library card!!

You can register in person at the library (all you have to bring is some ID with your address), or if you prefer to do it online you can click here (please note the name of your child’s school under “Requested Username”).

With this special Area E library card, your child can check out up to 5 items from the library, as well as have full access to our online resources. The funding is provided by a RDCK Community Development Grant for Area E, and the card is not transferable to other family members.

If you have any questions, feel free to email or call me.

See you in the library!
